We invite you to join Literary Arts for Bookmark, our annual celebration of literature and community, on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Portland Art Museum.

This year's gathering will be a visionary look at what's possible for our future. It will be one that asks us to honor the story of how far we've come, and look ahead to the legacy we're building together—for our city, our state, and the next generation.

Hear stories of what our new home has made possible so far, and what it means for writers, readers, and the communities we serve. We'll offer an early look at our vision for the Ursula K. Le Guin Writers Residency—a multi-generational gift to Portland's literary future.

The evening will feature a reception with a hosted bar, an exceptional dining experience, and a program designed to move and inspire with opportunities to invest in Portland's vibrant literary community. Literary Arts is also honored to feature special guests, author and illustrator Carson Ellis, alongside author and singer and songwriter of The Decemberists Colin Meloy. Carson and Colin will be in conversation with Anis Mojgani about their collaboration as artists, Portlanders, and supporters of a vibrant literary future for our city. Colin will be performing a song or two to close out our evening of celebration.
